Qué NO hace Montrack
- No envía tus movimientos a ningún servidor.
Acceso a Google Drive
Montrack pide un único permiso de Drive:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file.

Privacy policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
In one sentence: Montrack has no servers. Your transactions are stored encrypted on your own phone and are not sent to the developer or to third parties. The only thing that leaves your phone is the backup you choose to upload to your own Google Drive.
Who is responsible
Montrack is developed by Luis Gay (lgayc). For any privacy
question: privacy@869thesign.com.
What data the app handles
| Data | Where it is stored | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|
| Your income, expenses, categories, accounts and notes | An encrypted database on your phone | Only you, on that phone |
| Name, email and photo from your Google account | That same encrypted database, if you sign in | Only you. They are not sent anywhere |
| Google access credentials (tokens) | That same encrypted database | Only the app, to talk to Drive |
The montrack-backup.csv backup |
Your Google Drive, "Montrack" folder | Only you and whoever you decide |
How what's on your phone is protected
The database is fully encrypted with SQLCipher (AES-256). The key is generated at random the first time you open the app, is different on every install, and is kept in the operating system's secure store (Android Keystore). It is not written anywhere in the app's code, so it cannot be extracted by decompiling the installer either.
There is no encryption in the browser. If you use Montrack as a web app instead of installing it, your data is kept in browser storage unencrypted, because the encryption the app uses only exists in the native version. The app itself warns you about this when you open it and in Settings.
What Montrack does NOT do
- It does not send your transactions to any server. There is no server.
- It carries no analytics, telemetry or usage tracking.
- It shows no ads and includes no advertising networks.
- It does not sell or share data with third parties.
- It does not access your contacts, location, camera, microphone or messages.
- It does not connect to your bank or ask for banking credentials.
- It does not send your numbers to any artificial intelligence service. The Advisor's suggestions are calculated on the phone itself.
Signing in with Google
It is optional. The whole app works without an account: the "Continue without an account" button takes you straight in.
If you sign in, Google gives the app your name, email and profile photo. Those are used only to show you who is signed in and to authorise the backup. They stay on the phone.
Google Drive access
Montrack asks for a single Drive permission:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file.
That is the most restricted permission Google offers: the app can only see and modify the files it creates itself. It cannot read the rest of your Drive, list it, or open anything it didn't upload. In practice, the only things it touches are the "Montrack" folder and the backup file inside it.
The backup is a CSV of your transactions. It is kept in your own Drive account, under your control. The developer has no access to it.
How to withdraw access
From the app: Settings → Sign out. That revokes the permission on Google's side and deletes the session data from the phone.
You can also withdraw it from your Google account, under Third-party apps with account access.
How long data is kept
Local data lives on your phone until you delete it or uninstall the app. Uninstalling deletes the database; if you want to keep your history, export it to CSV first.
The Drive backup stays in your account until you delete it. It can be removed from Drive like any other file.
Children
Montrack is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from people of that age. As all information stays on the phone, there is nothing that gets sent anywhere in any case.
